Omar, eines der Kinder des Heart Children‘s Home, leidet seit seiner Geburt an einer halbseitigen Lähmung und einer Krümmung der Wirbelsäule. Dadurch kann er weder selbstständig laufen, noch alleine stehen. Obwohl wir Omar bereits seit einigen Monaten eine ambulante Physiotherapie ermöglichen konnten, reicht diese bisher leider nicht aus. Wir organisierten daher eine Untersuchung in einer speziellen Klinik in Mombasa. Aufgrund seines jungen Alters sehen die Ärzte die Chance, dass Omar normal laufen lernen kann und ihm ein Leben im Rollstuhl erspart bleibt.
Dazu verordneten die Ärzte ein zweimonatige stationäre Intensivbehandlung mit täglichen Untersuchungen, Physiotherapie und Ergotherapie sowie dauerhafter Pflege. Inklusive des Transports in das 120 Kilometer entfernte Krankenhaus belaufen sich die Kosten auf vergleichsweise geringe 1100 Euro.
Wir haben nun ein Crowd-Funding Projekt auf betterplace.org erstellt (Link unten), um die Kosten der Behandlung zu decken und Omar die Chance zu geben normal laufen zu lernen. Wir hoffen daher auf eure tatkräftige Unterstützung zählen zu können. Gemeinsam können wir Omar eine bestmögliche Behandlung ermöglichen und ihm die Chance auf ein Leben ohne Einschränkungen geben!

Give Omar the chance of learning to walk
Omar, one of the children at Heart Children’s Home, suffers from hemiplegia and curvature of his spine since his birth. Thus, he cannot walk or stand independently. Although we already could organize ambulant physiotherapy, unfortunately this isn’t enough to cure his suffering. Recently Omar was examined by experts and the prognosis is good: Because of his young age, the doctors see the chance for him to learn to walk normally and to not need a wheelchair.
To reach this goal the doctors prescribed two months of stationary intensive care including daily examinations, physiotherapy, ergotherapy and constant care. Including the transport to the hospital 120 kilometers away, the costs add up to comparatively low 1100 euros.
Therefore we created a crowd-funding project at betterplace.org (link below) to cover the costs of Omar’s treatment and to give him the chance of learning to walk normally.
